Nate and I have begun mulling over decorating ideas for the house. There are so many colors, patterns, and designs to choose from… and so many rooms compared to the apartment we just moved from. It’s such an exciting process. Every time I go window shopping for home-decorating ideas, I feel like a little girl in a candy store. Today, my sister Sarah and I spent the afternoon checking out items for the first floor bathroom. I have decided on a Daisy Theme — a cheery yellow for the walls, accented by white trim on the windows and curtains. Other than that, I think that I might go for an olive green for the upstairs bathroom. I can definitely envision a spa-like bathroom, eventually complete with a jacuzzi tub and plenty of candles for atmosphere. Nate and I both love the color blue, and I think that is another soothing color when used in the right shades, so we’re going to use that for our bedroom. The rest of the house is still a mystery, but — hey — we have all the time in the world to decide! 🙂
Anyway, Sarah and I didn’t end up buying anything, but I did fall in love with the largest, brightest, pink heart pillow I have ever seen.
Sarah and I came back to the house for a bit to chillax and play with the kitties. It’s a good thing the living room is carpeted, because Nate and I still haven’t bought a couch. In this instance, we not only are undecided on a color choice, but we also don’t have the money quite yet. There’s nothing like telling your guests, ” Hey, pull up a piece of carpet and make yourself feel at home!” At least the dining room has a seating arrangement and is coming along rather nicely.
About an hour or two before the sun started to set, Nate and I went for a walk around our new neighborhood. I wanted to skip from excitement but tried to contain my giddiness by just walking fast. I can’t believe we live here!! It was our first afternoon walk while in the new house, and I just felt like it was a super special occasion. We were taking a walk in our very own neighborhood. I find that exciting!
Some days are simple yet perfect…. This was one of those days. 🙂 Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
