I’m in love with new beginnings, and — for me — a brand-new month holds the same excitement as a new year might. Maybe because it’s such a blank slate. It’s lying there in front of me, just waiting for me to experience it. The challenge is will I live in the moment, or will I get caught up in dreaming about the future and forget about what I have here and now?
It’s so easy to think about all of the things I hope to accomplish someday. Writing my first novel, understanding the ins and outs of decorating my home, and even learning how to be a better hostess. There are so many things that I really want to do and so little holding me back. My biggest hindrance is usually me.
Soooo, I have decided to stop dreaming and to just start living. Are there any things that you really want to accomplish and maybe could if you just started to do them? I know that this is going to be a challenge for me, but I’m going to make my best effort! Maybe I’ll start by jotting down some things that I’d love to do this year… and even this month!
It was another evening of visiting stores and getting ideas for the house. I’m discovering that affordable accessories for any room can be found in the most unexpected places. And you really don’t need to spend a fortune to make a room look like a million dollars. That said, I still haven’t spent a penny, because I’m cheap and I want to make sure that I’m buying exactly what I want. 🙂 (That and I’m as terrified as I am excited with this entire decorating process). My husband and I are on vacation next week, so hopefully we’ll find some time to look at paint swatches and furniture. My guess is that the more colors, patterns, and styles I see, the more I’ll know exactly what I want to do!
