Furniture Shopping

I woke up this morning and the sun felt a little bit warmer, even if the air was still very cold.  Spring is coming, I just know it!  I can’t wait to start jogging again!  But winter isn’t over yet, and they are predicting some snow for Wednesday.  Maybe a part of me is hoping to be snowed in for one day of our vacation, just so we’ll have an excuse to relax and enjoy a slow-paced day!!

I have decided that furniture shopping brings out the best — and worst — in couples. Nate and I visited some popular furniture stops and quickly found out that we had different tastes.  We could agree on the color red, but the sizes / styles we preferred were all different.  Just as we were getting frustrated, we talked about what we were looking for in furniture and suddenly everything made sense.  While Nate was looking for a more casual, game-day oriented couch, I was hoping to find furniture that would compliment a nice sitting room.  (The marriage experts don’t lie — communication is everything!).  So we came to the conclusion that Nate will have full charge of the basement furniture once we finish the entertainment room.  He had an excellent eye for more modern couches.  And we decided that I can pick out the living room couch, which will be more country.  We’ll still give our input on both, but at least we know who will be better at making the final judgment call.

These were my favorite style couches and accents…  We didn’t buy a couch yet, but we narrowed it down to a few.

Speaking of the color ‘red’, Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and I need something to make for dessert.  And so the search begins… 🙂
