I have been lacking in inspiration and creativity these past couple of days. I will blame it on my slight headache. I think it’s an inspiration-stealing, creativity-destroying headache. Either that or life has become a bit too routine. Unfortunately, that will take a bit more than Advil to cure.
It’s so easy to fall into the familiar — to make the same recipes for dinner, to walk the same path for exercise, to hang out with the same friends on Friday nights at the same, familiar hang-out spot. And life seems fine and even great…until it’s time to write a blog post. And then you realize that you went on that same date with your husband last time and that you made that same pot of soup two weeks in a row. And suddenly life isn’t familiar; it’s a bad bit boring.
Back in the day, that meant it was time to go somewhere new for a vacation. But I’m beginning to think that changing things up a bit during every-day life might be helpful too. New exercise routines and paths will keep things interesting. New food — even foods we’ve never tried before — will add a bit of excitement to the dinner-table. And it never hurts to keep things new and exciting in a marriage. I mean, when you’re dating, you always try new things together. Why not when you’re married too? 🙂
This is going to take me a bit of time, but I think that I can add a bit of variety to each day. Hmmm, this could be interesting!
