The Gingerbread Men

On Saturday, I’m going to my first ever cookie swap, and — as a result — I found myself baking 10 dozen gingerbread men last night.  Yes, 10 dozen.  That’s 10 cups of flour…  3 cups of butter… 240 chocolate buttons… 120 gingerbread cookies… 1 exhausted cook.

How’s that for math?

Halfway through my baking endeavors, sometime around 8pm, I had my hubby take this photo.  By the end of the evening, I — and the rest of the kitchen — was completely covered in flour.

But now that it’s done, I can say that it was worth it.  And I can’t wait for Saturday’s swap and all the goodies I’ll come home with.  🙂

Have you ever participated in a cookie swap?

  1. Oh my word! You are one hardcore cookie baker. Those gingerbread men look like they’re all lined up and ready to show off their stuff at the cookie swap. Have fun! 😀

Your little men turned out great! I have done a cookie swap and they are so much fun. I love trying Christmas cookies that are a tradition from other families.

  3. YAY for gingerbread man!
    😀

It’s a gingerbread community! I have never participated in a cookie swap, though I think it would incredibly fun!

  5. I’ve been to one, but I haven’t actually participated in it (meaning I didn’t swap any cookies because I don’t really have any great recipes to share plus I just didn’t have time to bake them as it was earlier this week). 🙂 Yours look great though!
