Summer Fun

So while the hubby was working late last night, I began to compile a list of fun things  for us to do this summer.  We have to be creative, because we don’t have the same days off from work.  So we only have Saturday afternoons after 3:30 to do something…  And evenings, of course.

We are within driving distance of the beach, of a large city, and — of course — there are icecream stands galore here in the country.  There’s bowling, hiking, movie theaters, swimming, and plenty of fields for picnics.

Somehow, I’m still drawing a blank, because I know there’s more to add to my list.

So I need your ideas!  🙂  Any summer activities that we should try this summer?

What are some of your plans for this upcoming summer?

(This is my attempt to ignore the freshly fallen snow outside and to pretend that summer really is just around the corner).  🙂

  1. You and your husband could always do project together. It could be an indoor project like painting a room, or an outdoor project. I remember that one summer, my dad and I made a wood bench that people could sit on! It was a fun, hands on activity that really made feel handy!

Love that! Nate and I were just talking the other day about how we’d like to attempt to grow some veggies this summer. AND we want to paint a room or two. Turning it into a project that we can do together will make it FUN! 🙂

You could book a dinner cruise on Boston Harbor. Or you could make reservations at Legal Seafoods and eat on the veranda overlooking the docks! You could go for a late afternoon hike over to Doane’s Falls and then drive 32 into Keene for dinner at the Olive Garden. Or hey you could walk the center of Keene wander the Keene state campus get coffee at Brewbakers and eat in one of the main street reatraunts (there’s a great Italian place up there). Have fun with your list!

I always like to do a cultural outing like visit a stately home or castle, love them! A boat trip is also fun!

  6. Fun! 😀

I plan on spending a summer day doing absolutely nothing! Walking through the grass with my bare feet. Swimming at a nearby lake when the day gets too warm. Sipping smoothies and reading a book on the porch. Walking to get an icecream cone.

    Sigh. I want summer. 😀

How about fishing, tennis, biking, or something like that? I always like to just go out on walks during the summertime, but maybe try out golfing too? That can be a lot of fun!
